Do You Need Help Growing Your Business?

Issue 001

The best place to start is to develop a written plan for your business.

What you need to do is to write down your vision for your business – what you want to achieve relative to:

  • Income
  • working hours
  • capital growth in the value of the business
  • prestige

Many business operators seek assistance from experienced business consultants in the development of a business plan.

A key analysis is to prepare a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) Analysis on the business.

This can be a beneficial exercise in coming to an understanding of where your business is situated.

Another interesting exercise is to prepare a SWOT Analysis on your competitors.  What can you learn from them?  Could you implement some of their strategies, or something similar, into your business?

A review of your Capability Statement is also an important aspect of the preparation of the Business Plan or, if you do not have one, part of the process could be to prepare a Capability Statement which will assist you to promote your business to potential clients.

A Business Plan for a business is just as important as a map is for a tourist, because it will help you achieve your business aims and will allow you to take stock of where you are at various times so that, if you are off course, you have the opportunity to make corrections to get back on course.
