Peter Towers

Managing Director

Peter is an accountant, company director, consultant and coach with a wide variety of business experience including Chief Financial Officer/Company Secretary of a listed public company, principal of an accounting business, business adviser for a major Australian government program, business consultant.

Career includes 23 years as a principal of an accountancy practice, 10 years in commerce (6 years of which were as Chief Financial Officer/Company Secretary of a listed public company) and 15 years as a Business Consultant (10 years of which performing a contract role as Business Adviser for the Australian government's COMET (Commercialising Emerging Technology) Program.

Peter is also Managing Director of Enterprise Support Systems Pty Ltd, the developers of ESS BIZTOOLS which is a "business of business" advice package for accountants/business advisers (www.essbiztools.com.au) containing:

Mentoring Skills:

Peter performed a contract role as Business Adviser for the Australian government's COMET (Commercialising Emerging Technology) Program.  This role required Peter to act in a mentoring advisory capacity for businesses which had developed new technologies and were seeking advice on getting their business "investment ready" so they could try to attract investment capital.

Civic Involvement:

  • Alderman – Townsville City Council – 1982 to 1985
  • Director and Treasurer – Townsville/Thuringowa Development Board (now Townsville Enterprise Limited) – 1988 to 1991
  • Honorary Treasurer – Anglican Diocese of North Queensland (2002 to 2007)
  • Chairperson – The Mission to Seafarers, Townsville (2001 to 2013)

Sporting Involvement:

  • Foundation Secretary (1966 to 1970) and Life Member of the Townsville Junior Soccer Association (now called NQ Football Inc)
  • President – Queensland Junior Soccer Federation – 1973
  • Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Townsville Kern United (which played in the Queensland State Soccer League from 1978 to 1982)

Jenny Nye

Executive Assistant/Office Manager

Jenny is the Executive Assistant/Office Manager to Peter Towers.  The majority of Jenny's working career (approximately 40 years) has been as a Secretary in accountancy offices in Townsville, North Queensland wherein she has gained considerable experience in the operations and overall requirements in the running of a professional practice.

Evelyn Sorohan

Administration Assistant

Evelyn joined ESS BIZTOOLS in January 2014 as an Administration Assistant.  Evelyn brings wide practical experience to the team, having worked for many years in the legal industry.  Evelyn works extensively on government grants.  Her extensive experience in bookkeeping and administration supports the professional team at ESS BIZTOOLS.

We will work in conjunction with other consultants with specific expertise required for a client including:
